JACK’S STORY

Whilst I don’t recall the finer details, what I do know is that a few pivotal weekend camping trips with my Dad aged 8 sparked a lifelong love of adventure. As I grew up, our trips became more daring (though we never let Mum know that bit!), with kayaking and climbing expeditions across Europe and Africa. My time in school only deepened my passion for the outdoors, and by 2013, I found myself in Nepal, standing at the start of the Great Himalaya Trail. For the next three months, my friend and I trekked through some of the world’s highest and most remote terrain, becoming the youngest known people to complete the journey.

That expedition, as intense as it was, wasn’t an end but a beginning. At university, I pursued Geography & Environmental Studies, diving deeper into the science of the places I loved. After graduating, I entered the private sector, spending over 7-years working in climate and sustainability. And while I was immersed in this field, something clicked: all those lessons I had absorbed in the wilderness—the importance of resilience, adaptability, and connection to nature — were more relevant than ever to business. The reality is, half of the world’s GDP is tied to nature in some way, and yet the corporate world often overlooks this.

In addition to this, I came to realise just how much team leaders struggle to create meaningful, engaging events for their teams beyond work drinks and activities like crazy golf. There has to be a better way. Something that aligns with people’s personal values around sustainability, the outdoors, and mental health & well-being, while also meeting an organisation’s climate and ESG goals.

So, I launched Climate Pursuits. It’s more than just a business — it’s a way to bring the best of the outdoors into the corporate world. We design experiences that reconnect people with nature, foster a sense of purpose, and unlock potential in a way that traditional team-building activities just can’t.

Welcome to Climate Pursuits, my initiative to create remarkable experiences in nature that unlock team potential, whilst supporting climate action.
